Complaints Section

Thanks to a suggestion from an anonymous neighbour, I have decided to set-up this section. Frankly I do not know how best to manage this section yet but can we try doing it like this in the comments:

- only genuine complaints please - if you broke it, deal with it
- no personal attacks - yes, we all know he/she is scum but let's be civil anyway and leave out the unit number, name and never provide any personal contact numbers
- K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Silly! No need for long winded story-telling unless the narration is accompanied with interesting photos or videos...

Serious issues will be extracted into separate articles for more elaborate exchanges BUT I am not doing this as a full time job, so I will almost always be slow to do this. Sorry, deal with it :)

  2. Wondering if the committee will relook at refencing the Jurubina side (facing the factories) as the existing fencing is just barb wire type. Apologies if this is the wrong section to post this up.

    1. Agreed. Appreciate if the RA committee can relook at it.

    2. Check out the latest bulletin. It is in queue...prioritised due to budget constraint.

  3. Do you all know we (RA) can apply $10000 grant in order to beef up security from government ? It is in the star news.

  4. Regarding the Jurubina fence.
Due to limited fund, Jurubina fencing can only be done after guard house. This year, we have spend RM16k for the fencing between the shoplot. We are trying our best to use only the yearly fund of RM2500. Most likely 2013/14 should have extra fund for the Jurubina.. Bear with it.

    Regarding the grant.
RM10,000 can help a fair bit. I have found the document and will try to submit that. Thank Anonymous.

    1. Thanks Jimmy. Can I know when do we need to pay for our yearly fund for 2013/2014. I really hope that all other residents can contribute as well. The security guard has been doing a very good job thus far. Thank you.

    2. Wow, that is a very encouraging question. The cut off date is 31st Aug 2013. We can start to collect this RM2,500 1 month in advance ie from 1st Aug 2013 onwards.

  6. A suggestion

To change the current boom gate design to
    - residence with sticker
    - residence without stickers and visitors
This would beef up security as it will make it easier for the guards to ensure those without stickers are registered before entering our neighborhood. i notice our guards sometimes are pressured to quickly check the car at the gate as there are other cars queuing up to enter/exit

    1. We will look into this when new auto boom gates to be install. We have to consider big vehicle such as Garbage Truck & Bomba requirement. The current boom gates will stay till that happen.

The guard should ask visitor to park at the side when registering. There should be 2 guards there.

    2. The separate entrance and exit is to ease the job for our security guards and also ensure there is no such thing as "Hello" "Goodbye" access. I'm sure all of us have notice many guarded communities can be entered easily just by waving at the guards.

Those who have contributed should be issued access card for quick drive through, those who don't will need to go through the guards (sorry forgot to mention access cards in the suggestion above).

On large vehicles i'm sure we can come out with a solution.

I have seen this system setup at some gated and guarded community and its very effective in ensuring the guards do their job. CCTV could be station at the entrance to record all persons entering our community.

Anyway this is just a suggestions (i do understand we have funding and space constraint). Thanks :D

  7. Dear Jimmy,

First of all, I would like to thank you for putting in effort to maintain this blog. But, would you consider to maintain a facebook page for the Temasya Glenmarie Residence? Cause I personally think that it would be easier to get in touch via facebook instead of Blog. Thats just my 2 cents.Thank you. (Jalan Jurubina)

  8. I agreed FB is very effective in communication nowadays. Still, FB lack the privacy. And some residents do prefer to remain anonymous. Would that reduce the participation in FB? By the way, can anyone comment as Anonymous in FB Group?

Personally, i don't like some FB user just keep trying to add 'anyone' as friend. Most of the time I ignore, and hopefully that does not hurt their feeling. Just my 2 cents.

  9. Jimmy, thanks for your reply. It’s an unfortunate truth that busy lifestyles tend to reduce the opportunity for us to get to know our neighbors. Thus I think FB provides an avenue for us to connect to each other and to get know to each other better. Example, if I know how you look like, I can alwasy greet you if I say you on the street or I can wish you happy birthday if I know your birth date from neighbour.

Only Glenmarie's Residents can view the info on the Temasya's FB page. If I am not mistaken, there is an option for the host to choose who to share the info with. For those irrelevant parties, the host of the FB can also block or unfriend them and prevent them from viewing the info or posting message on ours timeline.

In term of privacy , those who doesnt want to reveal his/her identity can always choose not to share their comments on the FB's timelines, instead they can send email to the host and let the host share post it on the FB's timeline.

Furthermore, FB is easier to acces. I check my facebook account not less than 5 times a day. It is good to have our own Blog but I think it would be better if we can have our own FB page as well.

Above was just my humble opinion. I shall buy you dinner one day for all the effort which you have put in thus far. We really appreciate that. Thank you !

    1. I think having a Facebook page does ease the communication process. I have set up a GROUP to add all Facebook users who are living in GTS and the privacy is to a CLOSED setting to ensure others do not see the content. That said, at least all comments are not under anonymous as there is no reason to be considering we are all neighbours. I believe a page can work as my friend who stays in the deepest areas of some industrial area in Shah Alam has a very active FB group page as well and the community has become rather active and powerful in implementation of ideas.

I have taken the initiative to set up a group, so please go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/GTSRA/ and request to join it.

      Thanks.

    2. It is important that the committee member acknowledge this as an 'Official Communication' channel. May i suggest that i send this to the all Committee member to get an answer?

We also need to establish ground rules before starting. Eg on selling/advertisement, gossiping, dispute resolve method, some sort of SOP control to ensure harmony & avoid misunderstanding between each other.

All of us should take turn to do it more often.

    1. There is 2 laws broken (1) This is residential and not commercial (2) There is a control of number of occupant for every house

We need to give due pressure for MBSA to take action. Some of the neighbour already submit complaint to MBSA via
      http://aduan.mbsa.gov.my/

      Kategori Masalah : Kejiranan
Jenis Masalah : Kacau Ganggu / Kebersihan Premis / Kesesakan Rumah
      Voice out your concern.

It had been 2 weeks which their report still says "Dalam Siasatan"
We have to persistent and united to complain about this. Let's do it together.

  12. This relates to the loud sound of water travelling through indoor pipes.

A simple description would be: Your neighbour takes a shower in their Master Bedroom Bathroom, and because that bathroom is adjoining to your Master Bedroom the sound is so loud it can wake you up at night. It also applies to other parts of the house.

I've been told that this problem also exists in other units along Jalan Polis, and is not confined to my house or my neighbours.

We had complained several times to I&P with the last round ending with Ms Ong of I&P coming over with their plumber to 'hear' the noise. According to Ms Ong, they had been aware fo this noise and the Indonesian workers also confirmed that many houses along this row have the same problem. Ms Ong went on to suggest that we complain to I&P's water pipe supplier. That's perhaps when the final straw of patience with I&P was snapped.

Issue now is, as with many matters relating to I&P - they are not acting on this leaving us with million-ringgit-houses where we constantly hear our neighbours shower being turned on. You don't even have that problem with low-cost flats, from what I'm made to understand.

Oh yes, this will definately affect the price of our properties so it really is in our collective best interest to get I&P to sort this out. They are bullying us with threats of removing the fencing, while having design defects such as this as well as the usage of unsuitable material such as plaster on the outside of the houses. Why should we let them just walk away?

I, for one, would like to request that the Committee formally write to the developer for them to rectify this 'defect'. I could share a copy of the letter I sent to them if that would help - maybe an RA member can provide an email address I can send this to.

I'm sure others here would have the same problem. Appreciate it if you guys could speak up with your experience.

    1. yes my house also have this neighbour showering sound issue :D but that us the least of the problems. We also have the occasion booming sound from the room (i think it is the hot air escaping the roof of the warping of the roof when it heats up in the afternoon), termites, bad plumbing especially the flow from the master bedroom toilet, tiles not properly done (master bedroom toilet), smell coming up from the toilet, leaking room which after 2yrs of complaining is still leaking .......... i&p is awesome!

    2. OMG so many typo error:

"yes my house also have this neighbour showering sound issue :D but that is the least of the problems. One more thing, i notice lately there are cars or bikes with annoyingly loud exhaust racing down jalan polis past midnight (1am-4am). can our guard take down their details and also tell them off? its obvious they purposely do this as they are accelerating down the street and not crusising.

  13. Reference to your compliant on the yellow porche and the scrambler bike racing down Jalan polis very late in the night. I spoke to Bala and he has addressed the issue with the house concern. I have also made my point clear to the neighbour that this is not tolerated as we would like to maintain a quiet neighbourhood.

  15. For those who have experienced the mosquito menace inside the house, i ' d like to suggest to check the Draining - Outlets which are stagnant with water .Flush them frequently with a lot of water.
i won' t be surprised those stagnant outlets have been supplying battalion of mosquitos inhouse instead of from the constructiosn site.
Try this once to see the result then.
