Here's to a Happy New Year!
Dear neighbours,
Another year is poised to pass us by - and in great the traditions of man, we celebrate the coming year with a seemingly clean slate with hopes for a better tomorrow. And why shouldn't we? Each new year (yes, not to mention each new day!) is an opportunity for us to make up for the lost opportunity, right a wrong, make more money, live a more healthy life, spend more time with the family, strike a lottery, vote in a new (or retain the old) government, or simply be a better person. The "list of more" goes on...
And as much as we want to forget the ills and misfortunes of 2012, let us remember that life does serve up its fair share of lemons, it is our commitment to something better than drives us to make lemonade (with a dash of some spirits, celebrate what's ahead)! Which brings me to Temasya Glenmarie... over a hundred households lined up along 3 roads. We have all the ingredients for making delicious lemonade but what's lacking sometimes is intention!
I have no doubt that we can do better if we are able to set aside our differences and focus on the common priorities we should have as neighbors - that is to build and protect a neighborhood where our kids can play safely, where the fence is no barrier to handshakes of friendship, and suspicion is reserved by the guards to unwelcome visitors!
Happy 2013 and lastly, don't drink and drive (unless we are talking about golf...)

Happy New Year neighbors!
ReplyDeleteKeith
Hi Neighbors. Was wondering if anyone else has a problem with sewerage smell coming out of the powder room toilet? Been encountering this since we moved in a few weeks ago. IWK checked all manholes & sewerage ...no blockage. Don't know what to do. Stinking up whole house & slowly poisoning us. Plumber has no idea. Any suggestions or solutions, please?
ReplyDeleteHi. Have that problem with the maid's toilet. No blockages as far as i can tell, but the fellow i had in to see seemed to think the sewage pipes arent slanted enough so the flow isnt all that good. If that's the case, short of ripping up the pipes theres not much we can do.
ReplyDeletei have this problem in the toilet upstairs middle room at the center courtyard. very annoying as there are no blockages and the plumber can't trace the cause. all other toilets no such issue.

Hi Anon,
ReplyDeleteI have that issue too but it comes and goes, usually after I pour some water down the pipes. No idea why though - it's as it the sewage pipes have some intersection with the drainage pipes...
Gong Xi Fa Chai, everyone. Comforting too know I'm not the only one with this problem. However, as Me Jefe wrote, the problem comes and goes. Lately, the smell has lessened a lot. I noticed some kind of ground air vents recently installed at the back lanes for the drains. I wonder if that helped ease the smell. Still need to air the Hse every now & then. It's at a tolerable level now. Still would like to rectify the problem.
ReplyDeleteIt is a designed problem. The plumber or InP is pretending as though they have no clue about it. They have visit four house at least 4 times to check this problem. I have requested for the piping plan for the house, but InP not willing to give it to me.
ReplyDeleteIn December last year, i could not stand this problem for more then a year. Got a plumber to dig down 4 feets to find out the problem. In summary the smell is because:
1. There is no U-shape water trap at the powder room
2. the powder room waste water is drained to the same gully trap with the waste water from kitchen sink. therefore, for those that dont cook you are ok.
Hence, not only your house has this problem, i beleive all the 133 houses have the same problem.
I'm not surprise that I&P pretend there is a design problem on the drainage. There are other issues they pretend is not happening - roof leaking that couldn't be ratify no matter how many time we complain - all they do is pump silicon at the gaps, expanding and contracting roof causing the boom sound in the daytime, TERMITES TERMITES TERMITES and poor tile workmanship master bedroom toilet and kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOps i meant I&P pretend there is no issue on the design.
DeleteShould we all unite and approach I&P on all these? It's quite disheartening to hear of their non action/ denial approach. Can't we do something? Not just because of the property value but to have peace of mind & live in the house happily without irritating problems...which shouldn't exist in the first place.
ReplyDeletewell i have complained numerous time on all these defects but i think they already wash their hands off our houses since the 2 yrs warranty is over.
ReplyDeletejust like the way they handled the security fencing issue. they are in it for the $ so in my opinion trying to get i&p to admit and ratify would be difficult unless it something really serious like foundation/structure problems. just like termites - they will just refer you to the company providing the warranty which from my dealing with them are appalling.
i love our houses design, the neighborhood and generally the quality are ok - just these issues that keeps cropping up and i&p half hearted response to solve them is kinda sad. if we do decide to unite and complain as one then i'm all for it - perhaps some data on all the issues before we approach them.
