This is a post by one of our residents (do identify yourself anon) that I feel is important enough for all to know. As much as we are facing serious problems with mosquitoes, these poor men are literally being eaten alive for our general safety. Can we do more as a community?
Please read:
The guard guarding Jalan Jururancang fell ill, with itching over the whole body. He has been sick for almost a week now. Nobody wants to sit there due to the serious mosquito problem. If you notice, there are no guads guaring there now. Also, when i spoke to the guards, they told me some good residents has given them some repellents but these are not working.
I will speak to the conmittee tomorrow to purchase 2 units of mosquito buster which costs about RM150 from Ace hardware. It is cylindrical shape, with some blue UV light(i think)and a fan inside to trap the mosquito. One unit would be placed at the guard house and another at the Jln Jururancang.
Eventually, for Jln Jururancang, we can build a small guardhouse (can be portable) with a door and glass windows with mosquito netting. We can buy a ready made garden shade and cut out to fit a window with louvre glass window and fix netting.
Also, i understand that all the guards have moved out from the Dewan but currently do not have any room to stay. I&P does not allow them to use their office or one of their many rooms. Only allowed to the toilet for their shower, etc.No cooking. Currently, the guards will sleep outside of the MPSA dewan and the mosquito problem is plaging them there. They are also worried about dengue.
We have to come up with some form of solution here. I have thought of these few options:
1. The house no.46 is currently housing some Myanmar workers and we may ask the owner or rent a room to house the guards. However i understand that the house is also fully occupied. At least, they have electricity , water , bed and cooking facilities.
2. Let the guards use a room in either I&P office
3. Use/rent a room in the MPSA dewan that used to be occupied by the guards. In return, the guards will look after the place for free.
4.The electricity building along Jalan Polis next to the playground and field. We may buy maybe 2 camping tents, (which comes with mosquito nettings). At least the guards can sleep in comfort.
Currently the Indonesian workers have moved from the Dewan to the jungle next to Saujana O-Lot but they are also worried as the police often raid the place as and when they like even very early in the morning 1 am - 5 am despite paying toll weekly and monthly. They are also normally relieved of their personal possessions. We heard some of the women workers are even brought out on joy rides. A lot of them have resorted to running during a raid but some tend to get caught. Naturally a lot of the workers, including the guards are worried staying there as they not have any peace and constantly on alert.
I think we should all decide on the next course of action as i tend to sympathise for the guards.
Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteLet's call for a RA meeting ASAP to solve the problem.
Tks
Yes, a meeting is good. Since we agreed for guard, it is the community responsibility. Please keep us updated about the date ASAP.
ReplyDeleteplease keep us updated on the next meeting to discuss this issue. Its a win win situation, guard healthy, community is safe. Thanks
ReplyDeletethanks to this anonymous guy who posted this issue. I believe many of us are unaware. We felt sympathize for the guards. I believe the long term solution will be finalizing the gated and guarded, then we can build a permanent guard house for them. It has been more than 1 month since the last meeting, any news from MBSA? Lets meet up to solve this issue.
ReplyDeleteFor everyone's information, the guard concern is back to duty. But the problem with the mosquitoes persist.
ReplyDeleteJust for general awareness, I understand from email exchanges with Haizal and Goh that the RA have working on the following:
1. Fencing plan - MBSA has yet to formally revert on our proposed new plan and they continue to chase up on this. I&P has refused our initial suggestion for them to provide the material for the fencing and the RA continue to engage with them on this.
2. Mosquitoes - Subsequent to my exchanges with the MBSA department overseeing town services, Rohaizal has sent out a formal letter of complaint to the Datuk Bandar on the 29th of May.
3. Application to the district office and PDRM to implement speedlines along Persiaran Kerjaya to deal with speeding cars in our vicinity.
I understand that they do not want to call for the meeting without anything conclusive in hand and if anyone is able to assist, please state here or contact the RA directly.
Thanks for your attention.
I just noticed the commercial lot on the left (looking from Jln Jururancang), there is a group of contractor tearing down a small section of the blue divider and dig a deep long hole.
ReplyDeleteI realized the foreign workers starting to use this shortcut "mini road" to enter our neighborhood. If anyone know what is happening, please share. Thanks.
yeah, just saw today too....that is not our fencing rite?...curious, really what is that about..
ReplyDeleteHi everyone. Would like to know the status and updates for the gated and guarded approval? Lets see what is hindering their approval since is going to be more 2 months since we meet up on this. Thanks
ReplyDelete" Almost being robbed at Temasya".
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I do my daily routine chores, no feeling of insecure or suspicious of my surrounding. It was like any normal day, peaceful. Then I reverse my car out from the house to go out to buy food. On the way back home, I noticed a motorcycle with 2 riders on it, was particularly interested to look at my car. I got a feeling, " I think he wants to smash my car window to rob my hand bag". This was at the traffic light (left hand side is Volkswagen showroom), and we usually turn right to go back to Temasya Suria.
Quickly, I put my handbag way below, nearer to my side, the driver's side. I looked at them, I want them to know I am aware you are around. In less than 30 seconds, I noticed they are no longer around...right, left and even from my rear mirror. So, I thought ok, I am safe. I speed up to drive back to my house.
Well, another gut feel tells me this motorcyclist will not give up so easily. I think they are working nearby Temasya or the construction workers on the current project opposite here, why? I noticed a significant, EXCEPTIONALLY high amount of red soil on their tyres.
I am correct, they indeed is following me again, secretly. When I reached in front of my house, the motorcyclist is just beside my car. Well, I looked at him, he looked at me. Immediately, I speed off to the security guards tent at the entrance. I was just too scared and called my family. Too scared to even get down from the car to ask security guard. By the time, he was no longer at sight.
I waited for another 10 minutes before I get in to my house. My family came home and calm me down. After analyzing the whole situation, I think is not the security guards problem. Why?
1) When I speed off from them, I noticed the motorcyclist escape without passing by the entrance, where the security guard are sitting at the tent. Then , where did they escape to??????? Which way?
2) After analyzing the possibilities, the motorcyclist actually came in from the wire fencing (partially broken side). Any person can just squeeze their body through the wire fencing.
3) And as to how he bring his motorcycle in, I suspect is through a side walk.
From his action, he is very familiar with the neighborhood, maybe because we are the only expensive house at Glenmarie that is not gated and guarded. So, please be careful to all ladies, mothers, kids and even men. It can happen to anyone, morning, noon or night.
Dear Anon,
DeleteSorry to hear about the trauma you went through.
The guards requested that you meet with Bala, the head guard ASAP. He said that all vehicles entering the area were recorded in a log book and he wants to know more about the incident or more details so that he can prevent future similar incidents from happening.
First of all, sorry to hear the news and glad that you are fine and safe now. Thank you very much for sharing this so that we can be more alert. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend working at the Subang police station. He told me Subang Jaya, USJ and SS2, these 3 areas are very popular for house theft and snatch thief, mainly due to lack of gated and guarded facility. I understand what Ms/Mrs Anon (pardon me) is trying to say, you can have the security guard at the entrance, but if the whole neighborhood is not gated, they can climb in between the temporary wire, wooden fencing and drums. Have you ever heard petty thief rob Glenmarie Court, with all the posh bungalows and semi-ds? I think is a waste of time for them coz confirm fail. They prefer to target those middle-class homes at USJ, Subang, etc.. easier.
My police friend told me recently there is a surge of petty thief near the Lamborghini, Volkswagen, etc.... row of shops..And the thief knows the prices of our Temasya Suria house, and when they see is not gated and guarded, is like spotting a pot of gold! So, be careful, try to minimize maids bringing kids and babies walking around too much, until is fully gated.
Dear Anon,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are safe and also thank you for highlighting this issue. I think we need to resolve the guard and fencing issue urgently but we need to be patient as the RA is trying their best to get it done. I guess we as resident can do our part, be alert to our surrounding and notify the guards if there are suspicious people loitering around. though so far our area have been quite peaceful, we still need to be on alert especially with all the construction going on in our area.
Some issues ......
SPEEDING!
it is already bad enough that we have cars speeding on the long stretches of roads around our houses, i notice cars (resident or guest??) speeding too. especially on jalan polis - this is very dangerous with the cars coming onto jalan polis from the side lane to exit our area and also during evening with kids cycling or walking to/fro the playground. pls be a responsible member of our community and drive slower.
PETS ......
i love pets and when i bring my dog out for walks, i make sure i pack the "poo" and dispose them properly. however recently there have been so many "left overs" along the back lane that is really annoying - especially cat "poo" (those living around the middle row section of 120" & 86" will know as the amount of cat poo along the back lane is incredible).
so to all the pet owners, very much appreciated if you can make sure you clean up your pet's "poo". Having said that i notice most of the pet owners are very responsible and clean up the pet's "poo" - perhaps it just one or two pet owners.
I was made known earlier that I&P will stop providing the security services come August 2012 (next month only). Is this statement still valid?
ReplyDeleteIf RA were to engage its own own security guards, I think a meeting is needed immediately to discuss on this matter as RA needs fund contributions from the residents to pay for the security services and to ensure Temasya Suria is a safe place to live in.
Regards
Lee
Met the guard last night and pity them that they have to suffer under the hot sun and then the mosquito on daily basis. Can we chip in to get something reasonable for them such as a proper guard house with powerful fan or something? These are the people supposed to protect our property and family...i think they deserve something better than this.
ReplyDeleteOn 13/8/2012, at about 5 am, another robbery happened along Jalan Askar, parallel to Jalan Jururancang. Van stopped behind the hedge (near to house no. 72. They had managed to steal some of the scaffolding from the construction site across the road (they somehow managed to crawl under the barrier.
ReplyDeleteOur guards managed to spot the 3 robbers and alerted our workers, including Mandor Rusdi. Armed with weapons, our men approached the van and tried to check the situation. Then the robbers panicked and tried to speed off.
A commotion ensued and Mandor broke the front windscreen of the car and Bala and the other guards managed to smash the van. However the robbers in the van managed to escape. Some of the owners of the nearby houses woke up due to the smashings and commotion.
Jalan Jururancang seemed more prone to such incidents and we need to beef up the security here. The green fencing seems feeble and weak. Perhaps we should add more barbed wires. Again, our appreciation to the guards for being alert.
I must add that the robbers these days are getting bolder as around that time, our Indonesian workers and some construction workers are already up ready for Ramadan fasting.
This is a post by one of our residents (do identify yourself anon) that I feel is important enough First Security Services bodyguards
